Doppler Settings

Doppler Settings

  • Set the Doppler angle ≤ 60° for accurate velocity measurements
  • Align the Doppler cursor parallel to blood flow
  • Adjust sample gate size to match vessel lumen (not too wide or narrow)
  • Optimize PRF (Pulse Repetition Frequency) to avoid aliasing
  • Use wall filter to remove low-frequency motion artifacts
  • Balance color gain to avoid over- or under-saturation of the flow signal
  • Set appropriate scale for expected flow velocities
  • Use baseline shift to reduce aliasing when high velocities are present
  • Ensure spectral Doppler waveform is clear with sharp envelope
  • Adjust sweep speed for better display of waveforms (slower for detail, faster for rhythm)
