2. Section-Wise Detailed Syllabus
Part A: Professional Ability (Radiography - 70 Marks)
- Human Anatomy & Physiology: Basic organizational structure of the human body, muscular system, skeletal system, joint classifications, internal organs, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, and surface anatomy relevant to positioning.
- Radiology Physics & General Physics: Electromagnetic spectrum, principles of X-ray production, properties of X-rays, factors affecting image quality (kVp, mAs, SID, OID, focal spot size), photoelectric effect, and Compton scattering.
- Radiation Physics & Radiation Safety: Biological effects of ionizing radiation, ALARA principles, cardinal rules (Time, Distance, Shielding), radiation monitoring devices (TLD badges, film badges, dosimeters), AERB dosage limits, and radiation shielding protocols.
- X-Ray Machines, Accessories & Maintenance: X-ray tube construction, rotating and stationary anodes, cooling systems, anti-scatter grids, collimators, filtration, high-voltage generators, and basic maintenance protocols.
- Image Processing & Dark Room Techniques: Conventional film processing (developer, fixer, washing, drying), Computed Radiography (CR) and Imaging Plates, Digital Radiography (DR) and Flat Panel Detectors, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), and DICOM standards.
- Clinical Radiography & Positioning: Standard projections and views (AP, PA, Lateral, Oblique) for Chest, Abdomen, Skull, Spine (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar, Sacrum), Upper/Lower Extremities, and Pelvis.
- Contrast & Special Radiography Procedures: Types of contrast media (positive and negative), adverse reaction management, procedures including Barium Swallow, Barium Meal, Barium Enema, Intravenous Urography (IVU), Hysterosalpingography (HSG), and Myelography.
- Modern Imaging Modalities: Basic physical principles, clinical applications, and instrumentation of Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Mammography, Dental Radiography, and Nuclear Medicine.
- Medical Ethics & Patient Care: Patient management, infection control, handling emergency situations in the X-ray room, patient consent protocols, and specialized radiation protection for pediatric and pregnant patients.
Part B: General Science (10 Marks)
- Physics: Light, Electricity, Magnetism, Sound, Force, Motion, and Work & Energy (10th CBSE level).
- Chemistry: Chemical Reactions, Acids, Bases & Salts, Metals & Non-Metals, and Periodic Classification.
- Life Sciences: Basic Human Biology, Cell Structure, Life Processes, Genetics, and Plant/Animal Nutrition.
Part C: General Awareness (10 Marks)
- Current Affairs: National & International Events, Awards, Sports, and Government Schemes.
- Indian History & Polity: Freedom Movement, Constitution, Fundamental Rights, and Governance.
- Geography & Economy: Indian Geography, Climate, Basic Economic Concepts, and Demographics.
- General Developments: Environmental Issues, Scientific Research, and Technological Advancements.
Part D: General Arithmetic, Intelligence & Reasoning (10 Marks)
- General Arithmetic: Number System, Simplification, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM & HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentages, Time & Work, Speed, Time & Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Mensuration, and Data Interpretation.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding & Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Venn Diagrams, Seating Arrangement, Statement & Arguments, Directions, and Analytical Reasoning.
